Born in Honduras, Ruth gave her life to Jesus at the age of 18 and began serving in her local church through children’s and youth ministry. In 2005, she and her family immigrated to Canada, and shortly after, she joined VIVA Church in 2006.
Ruth initially served by caring for the church building, living next door for four years while helping maintain the property. After a season of part-time work due to family responsibilities, she returned to full-time staff in 2015 and continues to serve in that role today.
She takes great pride in maintaining VIVA’s facilities and creating a welcoming, well-cared-for environment for staff, members, and visitors. Ruth also coordinates a dedicated and gifted volunteer team in maintenance and housekeeping who play an essential role in church life.
In addition to her staff role, Ruth is part of the Intercessory Prayer Team. She deeply values faith, family, and community—and proudly celebrates her Latino traditions.
